My Crafting Journey

My Journey

My arts and crafting journey started many years ago. As a child I can remember having an interest in drawing from as young as five years old. I can remember as a youngster often asking my dad for paper and pencils to draw. My interest only grew stronger as I got older and entered my teens. I always looked forward to my art classes with you might say a bit of excitement. I took art as one of my options and soon realised that as well as enjoying I could see in my opinion I had a natural talent. Upon leaving school I started at college and achieved my level one and two diploma’s. Unfortunately due to home circumstances I was unable to complete my level three course. Due to the aforementioned my art took a back burner for a number of years. One day I was at a loose end, I picked up a piece of paper and did a sketch. When finished I took a good look at it and thought this is a pretty good piece of work. I showed my dad who thought it was an excellent piece of work and said you should get back into your art. It started me thinking and one day I was watching TV and was channel hopping and I came across by accident a number of crafting channels. This inspired me to return to my art and crafts. I started with great excitement to produce what my dad would have said were excellent. I made a great number of purchases though these channels and started to build a large number of crafting items. One day I was talking to my sister-in-law who told me of a Arts and Crafts shop close to where she lives, called The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin. This shop held many classes and this is when my journey began in earnest. The Kraft Kabin as well as holding classes, stock a wide range of arts and crafts materials and equipment. I have attended may classes and learnt a wide range of techniques and projects including card making and journaling.

My Crafting Area

Until I moved in with my partner I have never had a designated place to carry out my arts and crafts. Where I am living there is a large recess and some three years ago when I first moved in it was decided I would have this area for my crafting. I will now try and describe this area. I have a large L shaped desk with a large amount of storage space above and below, it is filled many arts and crafts materials and equipment. I am always obtaining new pieces of equipment and materials and my area is forever growing.
